The first deck we are releasing for sale on September 8th, 2024 will have a 2000 lbs limit. We will be releasing an HD model in the spring of 2025 with a 5000 lbs limit.
We currently have a 6’6” truck box replacement version, an 8’ truck box replacement version, both are 81” wide. Plus, we have a 8’ dual rear wheel deck truck box replacement version. That is 90” wide.
Recoil decks currently offers (3) sizes of the 2000 lbs model. We will release the inbox version of the Recoil deck in the spring of 2025 and the HD 5000 lbs model then also.
The on the box version of the Recoil deck is slated for release in the fall of 2025. Stay tuned to our website and Instagram for the most current details.
Please call/email Recoil to discuss.
The winch is rated for 5500 lbs.
We have a wiring harness for each deck pre-made. There is a 14g gauge wire that hooks to your trucks battery and we have a secondary battery mounted inside the winch box on the Recoil deck. Your truck will trickle charge the rear Recoil battery when your truck is running. This allows us to not run a heavy gauge wire from the battery to the winch, which, if not wired and secured properly can be a fire hazzard etc. Having a battery in the Recoil deck winch box also gives the best amperage directly to the winch.
We have a fuse to protect the charge wire from the truck to the battery, it is a 15 amp. Plus there is a one way diode so it does between the Recoil deck battery and the truck battery. This will not allow the truck to pull power from the Recoil deck battery, however it will not stop your truck battery from going dead if you leave the lights on your deck.
The Recoil deck system in completely enclosed in the winch box on the passenger side in a hard cover sealed plastic case.
You have two choices. You can use the wireless remote for the
winch or you can activate from the front of the deck on the
truck the momentary in/out toggle switch.
You are too far from the winch wireless receiver. Move closer to the deck, and or check the batteries in your remote.
The first step is to unlatch the lock at the front of the
headache rack, it is the stainless latch on the top of the
deck on the driver's side. You flip that lever 180 degrees
to unlock. After the deck is unlocked, you can activate the
winch in the unload position.
Step 1: secure your items on the movable deck using the airliner track and the tie down eyelets.
Step 2: after all items are secure, make sure the rear stainless deck latches are in the “UP” position, ensuring the Recoil movable deck will “Latch” into the mounts.
Step 3: Be sure all people are clear of the deck and never have anyone below the movable deck as it is winched into place.
Step 4: Winch the Recoil movable deck in place always keeping an eye out for safety and being mindful of pinch points.
Step 5: Winch the deck completely in until the winch is stopped by the micro switch.
Step 6: After the Recoil movable deck is in the parked position, secure the deck by closing the latch on the front headache rack to the closed position. Make sure that the catch completely moves down into the latched position. Failure for that latch to lock in place could cause injury or death to you and others if your load falls off.
The airliner track single eyelet hooks are rated for 1000 lbs.
The syntec nylon steel cable has a breaking rate of 22,000lbs. We thought it would be best to use a 3/8” line as it will frey over use. It is a woven cable and it will be normal for it to frey over years of use. On our current truck, after snapping many steel cables, we switched to this nylon line 30 months ago and it has been great. We have chosen this line also as it is 4x over rated and feel it is the best option in longevity and safety. You can purchase new lines from Recoil at anytime as a maintenance item if you wish.
There is a lighted toggle switch on the front drivers side
headache rack to turn on the deck lights. This switch will
light, 4 upper deck lights, 2 lower valence lights and 6
tail lights. The lights have very little draw as they are
LED lights, they are encased in a cast aluminum housing and
are extremely durable and bright.
Once the deck is on the ground, make sure you have some slack in the nylon line, then you push the button on the end of the pin that holds the receiver in and pull back on the round flange. Once the pin is out you can slide the receiver out.
Activate the winch in the “in” position and pull the receiver back into the front of the Recoil deck. You may need to help it by hand as it reels in the receiver, be sure to hook it back into the Recoil line stainless catch as it comes over the rear deck winch roller wheel. It will lock in place and then use the winch to pull it all the way back to the front of the deck. You will need to manually stop it at the front when you feel it is out of the way.
It can stay in that position as you use the fixed Recoil deck.
Currently we are rating the fixed deck at the carrying
capacity of your truck. However the Recoil movable deck we
are rating at 2000lbs. We will be releasing a HD version of
the movable deck in the spring of 2025. It will be around 1”
thicker than the current deck.
The roller wheels are clicked in and held in place with magnets. You simply lift them out. You can store them in any of the storage boxes. Then you can place the wheel fill plates in the holes to cover them up until next use.
The CastHaul 5th wheel hitch is rated at 30,000 lbs. More information can be found at the website.
The winch box on the driver's side can easily store the CastHaul hitch out of sight until it is needed.
You use the (4) suppled 3/4” bolts, be sure to use some anti-seize on the bolts and torque to 100 ft/lbs.
You release the stainless latch by rotating it 180 degrees, one latch at the rear of the movable deck on each side. After the latches are released, pull the deck extension out to the desired amount then flip the latches back in to lock the extension in place. The extensions are lockable in 2” increments from 2” to 24”.
The rear deck receiver catches are adjusted at the time of
final installation and quality check by the Recoil
technicians, however if an adjustment needs to be made you
can adjust the catches with an 4mm allan key. You can move
them in and out and left and right. The goal is a nice snug
fit that will not rattle or move when the truck is being
driven.
Recoil offers a clip in ski holder, LH and RH that clip into the airliner track at the front of the movable deck. This will support the ski that sits off the side of the deck. You clip that in the track, load and secure your snowmobile to the Recoil deck while on the ground and then winch it in place.
We have many Recoil deck accessories planned for multiple
applications. Stay tuned to our webpage and Instagram for
the many new releases. We are also excited to receive your
feedback on new ideas for your own applications. We have
enjoyed using the Recoil deck for many uses over the past 5
years. Feel free to contact us and send us pictures of how
you use your Recoil deck.
The usable length of the deck extension is 32".
It will hit the stopper at 60" and it will not fall on the ground. There is a small 4mm headed allen screw between the two extension extrusions that stops the extensions at full extension. If you remove the 2 screws the extension can be removed.
